Our Beliefs
WE BELIEVE THAT THE BIBLE IS GOD'S WORD TO ALL PEOPLE.
It is written by human hands under the supernatural leading of the Holy Spirit. Because God is the author, it’s accurate, authoritative and applicable to our lives today.
WE BELIEVE IN ONE HOLY GOD WHO IS ETERNAL.
In other words, He has always existed and will never end. He exists in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit collectively known as the Trinity. We believe that we were created in the image of God and created to live in perfect relationship with God but because of sin, we have separated from God. Therefore we cannot live in a right
relationship with God on our own.
WE BELIEVE THAT JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN MAKE US RIGHT WITH GOD.
It is only through His grace that we can be saved. He came to earth fully God and fully man, gave his life sacrificially on the cross to pay the ransom for our sin, and rose again to defeat death and give us new life. We believe this salvation is received when we confess our sins, declare Jesus as our Lord and begin following Him by living out what He says.
WE BELIEVE THAT CHRISTIANS SHOULD BE BAPTIZED IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER, SON, AND HOLY SPIRIT.
Jesus Himself was baptized and instructed His followers to be baptized in water and to be filled with the Holy Spirit.
WE BELIEVE IN THE POWER AND SIGNIFICANCE OF THE CHURCH.
We believe in the incredible importance for unified believers to gather regularly to study the Scriptures, pray and take communion. We believe that God equips different people with different gifts to bring about a unified goal of bringing Glory to God and bring the gospel to all people. We believe the local church is the most unstoppable force for taking the gospel to the world.
WE BELIEVE WE WERE CREATED TO EXIST FOREVER.
We will exist either eternally separated from God by sin or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated is Hell. To be eternally in union is Heaven.
IN ESSENTIAL BELIEFS, WE HAVE UNITY
"There is one Body and one Spirit...one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of us all..." Ephesians 4:4-6 (NIV)
IN NON-ESSENTIAL BELIEFS, WE HAVE LIBERTY
"Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters...Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls...So then each of us will give an account of himself to God...So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God." Romans 14:1,4,12,22
IN ALL OF OUR BELIEFS, WE SHOW CHARITY
"...and hold in my mind not only all human knowledge but the very secrets of God, and if I have that absolute faith which can move mountains - but have no love, I amount to nothing at all." 1 Corinthians 13:2
